Warblers
Two warblers breed here; many others use the archipelago as refuge or stopover.
Reviewed:Date is a field mark.
Adelaide's and Elfin-woods are endemic breeders; in fall and winter travelers join mangrove, forest, coffee, and garden communities.
Sex, age, and plumage change. Seek eyebrow, eye ring, wing bars, tail, breast, foraging, and layer; a sequence beats a blurred photo.

The guide at a glance
Two endemics, two maps
Adelaide's is yellow and gray and linked to the dry south; Elfin-woods is black-and-white in wet and montane eastern and western forests.
At Maricao both fit one trip, not necessarily one microzone. Habitat, municipality, elevation, pattern, and voice must agree.
The migration mosaic
Black-and-white creeps on trunks; Redstart fans its tail; waterthrush walks by streams; Mangrove Warbler directs attention coastward.
For rarities document head, wings, tail, underparts, voice, and exact date. The same plumage changes probability between October and June.
